Chatbots, softwares for the future

A chatbot is an automated system of communication with users that identifies their intents to provide the best response and satisfy their demand in the shortest time possible.

To simplify and understand what a chabot really is we could say is a software that works with artificial intelligence and it is designed to simulate a conversation with human users over the internet communicating through text messages that are integrated into websites, applications or instant messengers (Facebook, Twitter, Skype, etc.) helping executives get closer to customers. Basically it is a virtual agent that returns a response based on the user´s purposes extracting data in order to provide the most suitable response.

There are two types of chatbots, simple and smart. The simple chatbot is based on prewritten key words that respond to very specific commands; the smart chatbot works with artificial intelligence which understands language and not just commands, continuously getting smarter as it learns from conversations with people.

Chatbots are important because they help getting rid of routine tasks and simultaneous processing of multiple requests from users in order to access to information quickly and efficiently. A lot of businesses are implementing this tool to improve the customer engagement process and operational efficiency by reducing the typical cost of customer service. They are the evolution of a Question-Answering system using natural language processing so they are potentially a big opportunity for anyone wanting to be at the forefront of innovation giving the fact these days most of ur relationships are digital and people are using a lot of messenger apps as platforms any time and in any part of the world giving freedom to the customers to connect with different brands. A very good example is Amazon which opened its very first store without cashiers or self-checkouts.

This technology keeps evolving day by day in order to make life easier and connect businesses and customers in a more simple way personalizing the services provided, aiming to gain more clients and keep them for the future.
